Warralily celebrates a first year of milestones, as future residents look forward to an exciting year of building commencement

This week will mark the first anniversary of home sites going on sale at Warralily. In what has been a busy yet successful time for the residential development, the first twelve months has seen the transformation of once vast, open land into the beginnings of Geelong’s brand new community at Armstrong Creek.

In June 2010 Warralily at Armstrong Creek was officially released to market giving eager buyers the opportunity to be among the first to make the new community their home. Buyers scrambled for the opportunity to go into the ballot with those successful in securing their dream block delighted with the prospect of being Warralily’s first future residents.

A few months later the first sod was turned for Warralily and the broader Armstrong Creek, celebrating the start of one of the largest residential developments in the country. It marked the realisation of years of planning to create a master planned community to help manage the state’s population growth over the next two decades.

The sales success has continued with each release of more land, including notably the camp out for Stage 2 that saw buyers set up caravans and tents outside the Warralily Sales Office to be one of the first in the queue. With the first stage of Warralily almost sold out, Warralily Coast and Warralily Promenade have recently been released offering buyers even more choice in block sizes, price points and different locations whilst still providing all the key hallmarks of the master planned community.

Melissa Tilley, Warralily Marketing Manager said that the first year had demonstrated keen interest from the market in the estate which offers a great location, value for money and easy access to community infrastructure.

“There was lots of interest in Warralily before the first blocks were released because the development had been in planning for such a long time,” she said.

“Buyers were eager to be part of it - to have walking tracks, shops and schools all on their doorstep - and the sustained success of our land releases is proving that this interest will continue into the future.”

The first phase of works started earlier this year including the installation of drainage, sewer, water pipes, including recycled water, as well as the commencement of rejuvenation works on the Armstrong Creek waterway.

The year ahead will bring more milestones with the commencement of building of Warralily’s first homes set to start before the end of the year and Geelong’s largest Display Village opening in early 2012. It is seeing the homes being built and moved into that Ms Tilley said we are most looking forward to.

“The day when our first residents move into their new homes will be a wonderful milestone for everyone involved in Armstrong Creek – we will have to celebrate that event early next year!” she said.
