“Warralily is committed to building a healthy, active community for its future residents and fostering a good sporting culture is part of this.”
Geelong’s newest community Warralily at Armstrong Creek tonight announced its partnership agreement with Football & Netball Geelong.
The partnership, announced at Football & Netball Geelong’s 2011 Season Launch, will see Warralily serve as naming rights sponsor for a period of three years and signifies the estate’s long term commitment to the Geelong community.
“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Geelong’s leading community sports body,” Warralily Director Sean Duke said.
“Warralily is committed to building a healthy, active community for its future residents and fostering a good sporting culture is part of this.”
“As Geelong’s largest community based sporting administration hub, Football & Netball Geelong is the perfect partner for Warralily and we look forward to helping facilitate sustainable growth as Geelong and its player base inevitably expand in the coming years.”
Football & Netball Geelong administers competitions under three league structures and includes 33 clubs stretching from Lara to Anglesea. With the region experiencing significant growth, the body sees the partnership with Warralily as an opportunity to ensure that football and netball at a grass roots level continue to grow in a positive way.
“We are very excited about our new partnership with Warralily as we understand the importance of working with community partners to promote and facilitate the benefits of sport and recreation,” Football & Netball Geelong CEO Lee Hartman said.
“With over 10,000 participants in our competitions in 2011, we see this as a wonderful opportunity to grow our competition even further and we look forward to the possibility of new clubs coming from the Armstrong Creek precinct in the years ahead.”
Recreation and an active lifestyle is a core element of the Warralily master plan with one third of the development dedicated to open space, meaning most homes will be within 400 metres of local parks, playgrounds or sporting reserves.
Geelong’s first master planned community will also incorporate 7 football ovals, 3 soccer ovals, 11 netball courts, lawn bowl facilities, a multi purpose stadium and 4 pavilions
Mr Duke said that this emphasis on activity and community made the partnership with Football & Netball Geelong an easy decision.
“Warralily is all about providing safe, active and connected community living and, to us, an organisation like Football & Netball Geelong embodies these values too,” he said.
We see many synergies between one another and believe that this will be a great partnership for the Geelong community.”
