Warralily civil works have commenced under the watchful eye of Warralily, local council & environment representatives. It marks another important milestone for the development as it moves towards becoming a reality for excited new residents.
The initial site clearing and earthworks will form the shape and base levels for the creek, roads and residential lots. It will be the starting point for detailed construction and the first life size view of the future Warralily estate.
The civil works will be progressed in line with the sustainability and environmental principles that underpin the master planned development.
Warralily Urban Design Manager Jeremy Minter said that preservation of the natural setting is important to creating the sustainable environment that has appealed to future residents.
“We have placed an emphasis on retaining trees where possible and they are being fenced and mulched to ensure their protection throughout construction works. We will also be replanting many hundreds of thousands of trees throughout the development and as part of the rejuvenation of Armstrong Creek and the conservation reserves.”
Armstrong Creek will act as the centrepiece of Warralily’s landscaping features with 9kms of creek frontage. Inspired by Melbourne’s popular running track The Tan in the Botanical Gardens, a running and cycling path will act to connect residents to the creek and the many public open spaces, as well as nearby schools, cafes and shops via a 30km path network.
“We have engaged Australian Ecosystems to collect local native seeds to ensure that the right species are available,” Mr Minter said.
“We will be growing both terrestrial and aquatic plants in readiness for works to be completed and planting to begin.”
Australian Ecosystems is an environmental restoration consultancy company specialising in protecting and enhancing biodiversity in Australia through seed collection, propagation, replanting and maintenance of locally indigenous plants. The company has worked on over 400 ecological restoration projects and operates a state of the art nursery at the Eastern Treatment Plant in Melbourne utilising recycled water.
Since the launch of Warralily in June 2010, over 300 home sites have been sold to buyers attracted to the ideal location and master planned community.
Interested buyers are urged to register their interest at the Warralily Sales Office at 259 Connewarre Rd, Connewarre or the new Warralily Coast Sales Office at 680 Surf Coast Highway, Mount Duneed.
