Warralily Lots Snapped Up

Surf coast times & Bellarine times 22/06/2010

THE INTEREST in the Surf Coast’s and Bellarine’s newest neighbour, Armstrong Creek, was underlined on the weekend with the first stage release of Warralily. Following strong buyer interest, 46 home sites went to market with 100 per cent sold on the day, with lots snapped up by eager buyers keen to get their slice of the exciting residential development.

In addition, 50 lots were secured by display home builders. The home sites, ranging in size from 442sqm to 717sqm and priced from $157,000, were sold via a ballot system to registered purchasers. The event, attended by hundreds of people, saw new home buyers pulled from the barrel one by one to select the lot of their choice and take the first steps in becoming part of the Warralily community. Anthony Barnett was the first person drawn from the ballot, and he said he was drawn to Warralily due to the location close to the coast and Geelong. “I didn’t expect to be the first and I’m so excited, the development has everything my family needs and will give my boys the space to run around,” he said. Warralily general manager of development, Mark Whinfield, said the day had been a great success with people drawn to the location and future amenities the masterplan will offer. “People here today have been attracted to what the new community will offer. With home sites from $157,000, families will be able to put together a house and land package from around $330,000,” he said. “After years of planning, it is rewarding to see the buyers so excited by the opportunity to buy land here and we’re delighted to welcome the first future Warralily residents to their new home.”

Following this first stage release, the development will enter into the construction phase, with infrastructure construction planned to begin in the next couple of months and homes expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2011.
